Residents for some 3 years now, we are still thrilled with our choice of “Forever Home.” We have put our own stamp on our Villa and grounds during this period which, in part, is due to the encouragement and keenness of the Riversdale Manager. The Complex is unique here in the Bay and it’s presentation, thoughtful layout, and what it has to offer Residents with its various facilities, is what makes Riversdale special. Somewhat new to ‘retirement for Terry and semi-retirement’ for me, we find living here is like a holiday each day. Of course, when we lock up and go away, knowing our Villa is safe and secure and lawns tended to, is the icing on the cake. Finally, we must comment on our Manager, Sam. He is also a big part of our decision to by in Riversdale back in 2020. His larger than life personality, organisational skills, decorating and fitout flair of the Villas, his desire to ensure every Resident is happy here and feels included and be part of whatever is going on, is an asset to their business. We dread the day he decides to move on which is hopefully many years away…..

I have been a resident in the village for just over 2.5 years, it was the best decision I have made moving into the village. It has a lovely atmosphere; very friendly people and the activities and outings cater for everyone’s interests. We are never board. As a village we are so very fortunate to have our exceptional manager Sam Elder. His caring attitude towards us all show how much he loves his job. Sam is very approachable, listens to our concerns if any, organises our outings and guest speakers etc. If you are thinking of taking the next step and trying out village living do it when you can not when you have to and the decision is taken out of your hands, I highly recommend it. See Sam without hesitation. The Community lounge is the centre for many village activities, speakers and happy hour with a lovely kitchen and library. I enjoy going out in the village van to all the outings that are planned for us. The Nurse comes once a month, and we have emergency systems in our villas. There are exercise classes once a week along with many other activities. I enjoy attending the movies at the village every fortnight. The Resident and Social Committees are very active planning outings and events for us. Fresh veges are delivered every fortnight. This is a very special place to live, everything is here.

We recently moved into our lovely two bedroom Villa at Riversdale Lifestyle Village and absolutely love it! It’s spacious, the rooms are all light and bright and the facilities are excellent. We had reached the stage in our life where it was time to consider our future. We both still work full time and wanted to get away from the weekend grind of gardening, lawns and general house maintenance. We also wanted to travel more so the lock and leave ability was very appealing. After meeting Sam and talking through our options we decided to take the plunge and move into Riversdale. The Village has an intimate feel not too large so you get to know all the residents very quickly – we look forward to the Thursday night Happy Hour and bowls on a Saturday morning! Right from the beginning we were made to feel very welcome by Sam and the residents and were quickly informed of all the activities that we could be involved in, if we wished to. There is a very active Social Committee who organise great events which we now have the time to be involved in. Life in the village is fantastic and we are delighted with our decision to move into Riversdale when we did and not wait until we were too old to enjoy it.

Relocating to RLV some 4 years ago was a very positive move for us, and our life has been enriched through the experiences, residents, and freedom Riversdale has given us. With circa 70 residents, the Village has a unique character in that our homes are spacious, the grounds are attractive, and the Centre's facilities cater to most needs. We have choice re planting our own gardens, indoor/outdoor decor, plus entertaining indoors/outdoors, without compromising our privacy. The Commander in Chief, Sam Elder is to be commended for his dedication to the Village and we Residents never ending 'wants and needs.' His zest for life is infectious, and ultimately has a flow-on effect through Riversdale. With so many different personalities, it makes for an interesting and varied life for us. We would recommend anyone thinking about retirement living, come and view the Open Homes and decide for yourselves.
